Reflection News: How do you evaluate the present status of the Hotel & Tourism sector? Could you share insights into the facilities offered to your valued clients?

M.A Kalam Talukder: Hotel & Tourism sector in Bangladesh has shown resilience and steady growth, though recent political challenges and the establishment of an interim government have impacted the pace of progress. These issues, combined with travel advisories from the USA and some European countries, have added further complexity. Despite these hurdles, we at HANSA strive to maintain a premium guest experience. Our hotel offers sophisticated, comfortable rooms equipped with modern conveniences, a variety of international and local cuisine options, and luxury amenities including a fitness center, spa, and rooftop pool. Our dedicated team of professionals ensures that each guest feels welcomed and catered to, maintaining high standards in service and quality.

Reflection News:  What are your expectations from the present interim government for further expansion of this sector? Given the premium nature of your hotel, do local guests visit less frequently?

M.A Kalam Talukder: Recent political transition creates both challenges and opportunities for the hospitality industry. We hope the interim government prioritizes stability and supports our sector by investing in better transportation networks, visa facilitation, and global promotion of Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage. These efforts would reassure international visitors, particularly from countries affected by travel advisories, and boost confidence in Bangladesh as a safe destination. As for local guests, our premium hotel regularly offers packages tailored to them, making the HANSA experience accessible without compromising on quality.

Reflection News:  What current trends and challenges do you observe in this industry?

M.A Kalam Talukder: Demand for personalized experiences and eco- conscious travel continues to grow, with today’s travelers prioritizing meaningful, unique offerings. However, travel advisories issued by countries like the USA and followed by several European nations have created a cautious environment for international travel to Bangladesh. This, combined with a highly competitive market and skilled manpower shortages, poses ongoing challenges. Additionally, political and economic changes influence tourism inflows and make adaptability essential for long-term success in the hospitality industry.

Reflection News: As an experienced professional in this sector, what strategies would you suggest for further development of the Hotel & Tourism industry?

M.A Kalam Talukder: To foster resilience, we must prioritize skill development, technological integration, and government-supported international marketing. Training for hospitality professionals is crucial to maintain high standards, while an effective digital presence enables greater reach and improved guest interactions. A stable, secure environment supported by the government would encourage international tourists to visit, while diversified tourism offerings like adventure, eco-tourism, and cultural experiences would attract a wider audience, benefiting both local communities and the economy.

Reflection News: Would you tell us about your future business plans and social initiatives?

M.A Kalam Talukder:  HANSA is dedicated to growth that reflects our commitment to excellence and social responsibility. We aim to expand our offerings, including new dining and recreational options, and to implement environmental-friendly practices. Social initiatives are also a cornerstone of our philosophy, as we support multiple educational programs to contribute positively to society. These actions demonstrate our belief that business success and community welfare go hand-in-hand, and we are proud to support local development alongside our own business goals.
