Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) Foundation and Universal Medical College Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on improving nutritional status in society through youth participation.
Under the agreement, a Nutrition Club will be established, and various awareness-raising activities will be conducted, research carried out, and healthy lifestyles promoted, according to a press release.
Dr Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, managing director of Universal Medical College Hospital, and Md Shahid Uddin Akbar, CEO of BIID Foundation, spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of leadership in combating malnutrition and ensuring healthy lifestyles among adolescents and
youth.
The event was supervised by Prof SM Shamsuzzaman, head of Research at Universal Medical College Hospital, with additional speeches from Dr Uttam Kumar Pal, dean of Universal Medical College, and Mahenur Begum, Dean of Universal Nursing College.
The event was coordinated by Dr Jannatul Mium and Farzana Huda, program officers from the BIID Foundation.
Over fifty students from Universal Medical College and Universal Nursing College participated in the event.
